New Immersive Concert Series Celebrates Spring at the Church of Clérigos
The beauty, renewal, hope, and rebirth are the essence of Clérigos Immersive Concert: Spiritus Vitae – Sounds of Spring, the new immersive concert series at the Church of Clérigos, set to premiere on April 3.
In April, as Easter symbolizes renewal and nature transforms with the arrival of spring, the interior of the iconic Church of Clérigos will be filled with colors and sounds in an emotional ode to beauty and rebirth. The new concert series Clérigos Immersive Concert: Spiritus Vitae – Sounds of Spring promises to take the audience on a multisensory journey through the essence of the new season, evoking and celebrating the beauty of life in all its splendor. The first concert premieres on April 3 at 9:30 PM, with additional performances on April 4, 8, 9, 17, 18, 24, and 25.
Clérigos Immersive Concert: Spiritus Vitae – Sounds of Spring combines live performances of pieces inspired by the lightness of the season and the Easter spirit with an exclusive 360º projection onto the monument’s architecture, creating a deep and captivating experience at the heart of the temple, carrying a message of light, renewal, and hope.
In this new immersive cycle, featuring a total of eight exclusive concerts, the majestic pipe organs of the Church of Clérigos, the melodic violin, and the expressive voice are joined, for the first time, by a live piano performance. Together, they will bring to life melodies such as Arabesque (C. Debussy), Rejoice Greatly (G. F. Handel), and Alleluia (W. A. Mozart).
According to Edoardo Canessa, “Spiritus Vitae is a much-needed exaltation of rebirth, nature, beauty, and the eternal cycle of life. More than just a musical experience, these concerts aim to immerse the audience in an inner journey of reflection and wonder, engaging all the senses, where every element – the temple’s architecture and solemnity, the projection, the choice of melodies, and the live musical performance – come together in perfect harmony to provide a truly transformative experience.”
The Spiritus Vitae cycle follows the multimedia concerts Clérigos Immersive Concert – Spiritus of Classical Music and Spiritus Natalis, both developed as part of the Spiritus universe—the first immersive show at the Church of Clérigos, which in 2023 earned the monument the title of “Most Remarkable Venue” in the world by the Remarkable Venue Awards.
Tickets for the Sounds of Spring concerts, recommended for ages 12 and up, are available from March 19 at a cost of €27. They can be purchased at www.spiritusporto.com, www.portugalagenda.com, or at the local box office.
